Floodplain Restoration for Salmonid Habitat in the Yakima Basin

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation developed the Schaake Habitat Improvement Project, in collaboration with several partners, to restore approximately 130 acres of floodplain within the Schaake property for salmonid habitat. Reclamation undertook this project as part of their mission outlined in the Yakima River Basin Water Enhancement Project (YRBWEP) to protect fish and wildlife through improved water management.
